 E. Procedure (Fig. 401)

 CAUTION: USE TWO WRENCHES TO TIGHTEN THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS TO PREVENT
_______
 DAMAGE TO THE TUBES.

 DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE BOOT ON THE STOP MECHANISM OF THE BLEED VALVE DURING INSTALLATION.
 THE VBV SYSTEM MUST BE IN THE CLOSED POSITION.
 (1) Do a check that the VBV system is in the closed position.
 (a)  If it is not, operate the system to the closed position with the bleed valve and the hex drive of the master ballscrew actuator.
 NOTE: To do this, use a ratchet wrench.

 (2)  Remove the caps.

 (3)  Use the main flexible shaft to turn the stop mechanism shaft of the
 bleed valve.
 NOTE:____ Turn the shaft in the direction shown by the arrow on the
 stop mechanism housing.  Continue until the stop mechanism
 shaft comes up against the mechanical stop that is at the
 closed position.

 CAUTION: KEEP THE FUEL GEAR MOTOR AT 90 DEGREES TO THE MOUNTING SURFACE
_______ WHEN YOU INSTALL IT ON THE STOP MECHANISM. THIS IS TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE SPLINES.
 (4)  Install the fuel gear motor of the bleed valve on the stop mechanism as follows:
 WARNING:_______DO NOT LET ENGINE OIL STAY ON YOUR SKIN. USE ENGINE OIL IN AREA WITH GOOD VENTILATION. ENGINE OIL IS POISONOUS AND CAN BE ABSORBED THROUGH YOUR SKIN. ENGINE OIL FUMES CAN IRRITATE YOUR RESPIRATORY TRACT.
 (a)  
Lightly lubricate a new o-ring with engine oil.

 (b)  
Install it in the groove on the housing of the fuel gear motor.

 (c)  
Put the fuel gear motor into the stop mechanism.

 (d)  
Turn the fuel gear motor to align the bolt holes.

 (e)  
Do a check that the o-ring is correctly installed.

 (f)  
Lightly lubricate four bolts with grease.

 (g)  
Install the bolts.

 (h)  
Tighten the bolts to 110-120 pound-inches (12.4-13.6 Newton meters).
