INCORRECT RIG: POSITION WITH THE CABLE NOT RIGGED CORRECTLY (THIS MISADJUSTMENT WILL CAUSE THE VSV'S TO TRACK ON THE CLOSED SIDE OF THE VSV SCHEDULE).

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THERE IS CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE PARTS THAT FOLLOW:

THE FEEDBACK CABLE ROD FOR THE VSV
-
THE ROD END/HEAD END HOSES FOR THE VSV
-
THE ATTACHED HARDWARE.
NO CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE PARTS CAN CAUSE THE VSV TO OPERATE OFF
SCHEDULE.
(3) Do a check for clearance between the parts that follow:
(a)
The feedback cable rod for the VSV
(b)
The rod end/head end hoses for the VSV
(c)
The attached hardware.

If it is necessary, adjust the position of the hoses to get clearance.
S 725-029-C00
(5)
Apply a tension load of 15-17 pounds (67-76 N) in a line with cable centerline axis.

(6)
Keep the load and do a check that the rig pointer is aligned with the notch for the rig plate.
S 825-031-C00
(7)
If the rig pointer and the rig plate notch are not aligned, align the rig pointer with the rig plate notch as follows:
(a)
Loosen the locking bolt on the feedback cable adjustment bracket.
(b)
Turn the adjustment screw to align the rig pointer to the rig plate notch.
(c)
Tighten the locking bolt to 32-35 pound-inches
(3.6-4.0 Newton meters).

(8) Close the left thrust reverser half (AMM 78-31-00/201).

A. An inspection of the feedback cable of the variable stator vane (VSV) includes a visual check for wear, correct installation, and if it is attached correctly.
