 SCHEDULE.
 (4)  Do a check for clearance between the parts that follow: - The feedback cable rod for the VSV - The rod end/head end hoses for the VSV - The attached hardware.
 (5)  S 825-016-C00If it is necessary, adjust the position of the hoses to get clearance.
 (6)  S 485-017-C00Use a lockwire to attach a pull scale to the MEC feedback arm. lockwire. Use
 S 035-018-C00

 (7)  
Loosen the locking bolt on the adjustment bracket of the feedback cable.

 S 725-019-C00

 (8)  
Apply a tension load of 15-17 pounds (67-76 N) in a direct line with the cable centerline axis.

Keep the load and do a check that the rig pointer is aligned with
 the notch of the variable rig plate.

 If the rig pointer and rig plate notch are not aligned, do the step
 that follows.

 

 (a)  Turn the adjustment screw of the feedback cable bracket to align them.

 Turn the adjustment screw 2/3 of a turn more clockwise to close the
 VSV one degree.

 Tighten the locking bolt on the adjustment bracket of the feedback
 cable to 32-35 pound-inches (3.6-4.0 Newton meters).

 Align the rig plate notch with the rig pointer as follows:

 (a)  
Loosen two screws on the variable rig plate.

 (b)  
Turn the variable rig plate to align the rig plate notch with the rig pointer.

 (c)  
Tighten the two screws to 7-9 pound-inches
 (0.8-1.0 Newton meters).

 

 

 I. Static Rig Check (Fig. 504)

 CAUTION: ON ENGINES WITH P/N 9368M57P09 MEC, DO THE STEPS THAT FOLLOW.
_______ IF A STATIC RIG IS TO BE DONE AFTER THE INITIAL INSTALLATION OF A P/N 9368M57P09 MEC, CONTINUE AS FOLLOWS. DO CFMI SB 73-014. AFTER YOU INITIALLY DO CFMI SB 73-014, THE VARIABLE RIG PLATE OF THE VSV WILL BE ADJUSTED. WHEN A CHECK IS DONE ON THE VSV STATIC RIG, THE RIG POINTER AND THE RIG NOTCH MUST BE ALIGNED. THIS SHOWS A CORRECT CABLE RIG.
 ON ENGINES WITH P/N 9368M57P11 MEC, DO THE STEPS THAT FOLLOW.
 IF A STATIC RIG IS TO BE DONE AFTER THE INITIAL INSTALLATION OF A P/N 9368M57P11 MEC, CONTINUE AS FOLLOWS. CLOSE THE VSV SCHEDULE BY ONE DEGREE, REFER TO THE TRAVEL CHECK. AFTER THE INITIAL STATIC RIG, THE VARIABLE RIG PLATE WILL BE ADJUSTED AND MUST NOT BE ADJUSTED AGAIN.
 (1)  
Operate the VSV system to the full open position (AMM 75-31-00/201).

 (2)  
Use a lockwire to attach a pull scale to the MEC feedback arm.
