2)  Rub the surfaces dry.
 (b)  Install the strut fairing halves with 15 screws each.
 (c)  If the temperature of the sealing surfaces is below 50°F
 (10°C), do the step that follows:
 1)  Flow warm air (not more than 120°F [50°C]) over the
 structure to make the surfaces warm.
 (d)  Apply the primer with a brush or spray on all of the surfaces
 to be sealed.
 NOTE:____ Give the primer a minimum of one hour to dry before you
 apply the sealant.
 (e)  Apply the sealant to the areas as shown in Fig. 401 (View D).
 (f)  Rub the sealant smooth and let it cure for 10 hours.
 NOTE:____ A Ten hour cure time is necessary at standard conditions
 of 77 |2°F (25 |1°C) and 50 |5% relative humidity.  The
 cure time can be decreased if you flow warm air (not
 more than 120°F [50°C]) above the sealant or if you
 first make the sealing surfaces warm.

 (36) Adjust the VBV feedback cable (AMM 75-32-05/501).
 NOTE: The connection of the feedback cable to the MEC feedback arm
____ and the reverser arm of the stop mechanism is made during the test procedure.

 (a)  Manually operate the VBV system thru two closed/open/closed cycles.
 NOTE: Make sure the feedback cable linkage can move freely.

VARIABLE BLEED VALVE (VBV) FEEDBACK CABLE - ADJUSTMENT/TEST
___________________________________________________________
 1.  General
_______
 A.  This procedure supplies the necessary steps to adjust the feedback cable of the variable bleed valve (VBV). You must do this procedure after the removal or replacement of the:
 -Feedback cable
 -Fuel gear motor and stop mechanism assembly of the bleed valve
 -Main engine control (MEC).
 B.  Three adjustments are given:
 -
A resistance check

 -
A travel check

 -
A static rig check.


 (1)  
The resistance check makes sure that the force necessary to move the feedback cable is not more than a specified limit.

 (2)  
The travel check makes sure that the VBV doors can operate through their full travel range (while they do not push the MEC internal mechanism more than its usual travel range).

 (3)  
The static rig check makes sure that the feedback signal transmitted to the MEC is sychronized with the door position.
