____ lockwire does not go through the witness hole.
1) If the threads are not correctly engaged, adjust the length. Do the steps to check the cable length at the MEC end.
NOTE: To do this, turn the rod end bearing.

If you adjusted the rod end bearing, tighten the jamnut against the rod end bearing to 24-27 pound-inches (2.7-3.1 Newton meters).
(l)
Attach the rod end bearing to the MEC feedback arm.
1) ON ROD-END BEARINGS WITH DROP-IN UNIBALLS (WITH CFMI SB 72-667), lubricate the uniballs on the rod end bearing. a) Lubricate the two sides of the uniballs on the rod end
bearing with LPS-1 penetrating oil.
1. Let the uniballs soak in the oil for 2-3 minutes.

b) Turn the uniballs back and forth in the two directions fully three times, until there is a smooth operation of the uniballs.
1. If more oil is necessary for smooth operation, do
_ the above steps again. c) Wipe off all unwanted oil with a lint free cloth.

d) Put the rod end bearing in position on the inboard side of the lever arm.
2) ON ROD-END BEARINGS WITH UNIBALLS STAKED IN WITH TEFLON SLEEVES (WITHOUT CFMI SB 72-667), put the rod end bearing on the inboard side of the feedback arm.
3) Install the washer and bolt (the bolt head must point to
the fan case).
4) Install the slotted nut.
5) Tighten the nut to 20-40 pound-inches
(2.3-4.5 Newton meters) while you align the nut slot with the cotter pin hole.
NOTE: Replace the nut if you cannot get the minimum torque
____ value, or if you go above the maximum torque value.
6) Install the cotter pin.
7) Bend the ends of the pin around the nut flats.

CAUTION: ON CFM56-3-B1 ENGINES WITH P/N 9368M57P11 MEC, THIS STATIC RIG

PROCEDURE MUST BE DONE. DO IT AFTER THE INITIAL INSTALLATION
OF A P/N 9368M57P11 MEC. THIS IS TO CLOSE THE VSV SCHEDULE BY
ONE DEGREE AND MAKE SURE OF THE CORRECT CABLE RIG. WHEN A
CHECK IS DONE OF THE VSV STATIC RIG, THE RIG POINTER MUST BE
ADJUSTED TO THE NOTCH OF THE VARIABLE RIG PLATE, REFER TO THE
INITIAL STATIC RIG CHECK.

Do a check that the notch on the variable rig plate is aligned with
the notch on the MEC casting.

If the notch of the variable rig plate and the MEC casting notch are not aligned, do the steps that follow:
(a)
Loosen the two screws on the variable rig plate.
(b)
Turn the variable rig plate to align the rig plate notch and the MEC casting notch.
