If the right VSV actuator is to be removed, do the steps that follow: 1) Put the container below the actuator drain port. 2) Disconnect the drain fitting. 3) Drain the system of fuel.

 (d)  
Disconnect the tube nuts from the head and rod ends at the
 actuator.


 (e)  
Loosen the jamnut and the key lock from the actuator piston
 rod.

 

 CAUTION: USE THE END HEX ON THE ACUTATOR ROD ONLY TO TURN THE ROD.

 DAMAGE TO THE ROD SURFACE CAN CAUSE ROD SEAL LEAKAGE
 DURING OPERATION.

 (f)  
Use the rod end hex to loosen the actuator rod.

 (g)  
Move the actuator rod apart from the part of the actuator
 clevis with threads.


 (h)  
If the left VSV actuator is to be removed, do the steps that follow: 1) Remove the two bolts and nuts that attach the clamp bracket


 for the fuel tube to the mounting bracket for the VSV
 feedback cable. 2) Loosen the nose cap on the feedback cable. 3) Loosen the nose cap from the conduit threads. 4) Remove the feedback cable from the mounting bracket. 5) Remove the three bolts which attach the two parts that
 follow:
 a) The mounting bracket for the VSV feedback cable.
 b) The end cover for the actuator rod.

 6) Install the bolts and washers in the actuator housing.
 (i)  
Remove the bolts, nuts and sleeve which attach the actuator to the bellcrank assembly.

 (j)  
Remove the actuator from the engine.

 (4)  Remove the nipples, and remove and discard the o-rings from the actuator ports that follow:
 NOTE: If the replacement actuator is supplied with all the nipples

 installed, do not do this step.

 (a)  
The Drain port (right VSV actuator)

 (b)  
The Rod end port

 (c)  
The Head end port.
