(16) Install the two clamps that attach the bellcrank end of the feedback cable as follows:
(a)
Install the first clamp on the cable.
(b)
Lubricate the clamp bolt threads with grease.
(c)
Install the clamp to the bracket at the 6:30 o'clock position on the middle shroud of the fan frame with the bolt and nut.
(d)
Tighten the bolt to 55-70 pound-inches (6.2-7.9 Newton meters).
(e)
Install the second clamp on the cable.
(f)
Lubricate the clamp bolt threads with grease.
(g)
Attach the clamp to the clamp for the VBV feedback cable with the bolt and nut.
(h)
Tighten the bolt to 100-110 pound-inches
(11.3-12.4 Newton meters).
S 434-047-C00
(17) If you replaced the feedback cable, install the rod end bearing on each end of the cable as follows:
(a)
Install the jamnut and rod end bearing on the cable end.
(b)
Examine the jamnut and rod end bearing to make sure the threads are sufficiently engaged. 1) Make sure a 0.032 inch (0.80 mm) diameter lockwire will not
go through the witness hole.
(c)
Tighten the jamnut against the rod end bearing to
24-27 pound-inches (2.7-3.1 Newton meters).

(b) Clean the mating surfaces with MEK and dry them with a cloth.
(c) Install the strut fairing halves with the screws (15 locations
each half).
(d) If the temperature of the surfaces to be sealed is below 50°F
(10°C), apply a warm flow of air to the structure (not to
exceed 120°F [50°C]).
(e) Apply the primer on all of the surfaces to be sealed with a
brush or spray.
1) Let the primer dry for a minimum of 1 hour before you apply
the sealant.
(f) Apply the sealant to the areas shown in Fig. 401 (View E).
(g) Make the sealant smooth and let it bond permanently for 10
hours.
NOTE:____ The ten hour bond time applies to the conditions of
77 |2°F (25 |1°C) and 50 |5% relative humidity. You can
decrease the bond time with a warm flow of air (not to
exceed 120°F [50°C]) on the sealant. You can also make
the surfaces to be sealed warm before you apply the
sealant.
