ú (q) ENGINES POST-CFMI-SB 72-950;
ú Engines with this service bulletin do not use washers.
(r) Tighten the nose cap to 180-200 pound-inches
(20.3-22.6 Newton meters).
(s) Install some lockwire.
(t) Install the rod end bearing and the jamnut.
1) Turn the rod end bearing and the jamnut on the cable.
NOTE: Do this the same number of turns that were____
necessary to remove the bearing.
2) Do a check that the threads are sufficiently engaged.
NOTE: To do this, make sure a 0.032 inch (0.80 mm)____
diameter lockwire does not go through the witness
hole.
3) Tighten the jamnut against the rod end bearing to
24-27 pound-inches (2.7-3.1 Newton meters).

(4) Do the pull check.

(5) If the force is more than 8 pounds (36 N), replace the cable
(AMM 75-31-02/401).
G. Travel Check (Fig. 503)

(1) Make sure the ends of the VSV feedback cable are disconnected from
the MEC feedback arm and the bellcrank lever arm.

(2) Discard the cotter pin.

CAUTION: IF YOU CHANGE THE ADJUSTMENT OF THE FEEDBACK CABLE LENGTH, YOU_______
MUST DO A VSV STATIC CHECK TO MAINTAIN PROPER ENGINE OPERATION.
(3) Do a check of the cable length at the bellcrank end
(AMM 75-31-00/201).
(a) Operate the VSV system to the full closed position.
(b) Pull the feedback cable at the bellcrank end until the travel
ú is stopped.

(c) Do a check for overlap of the items that follow:

the centerline of the rod end bearing of the cable
-
the centerline of the attachment hole of the bellcrank lever
arm. 1) If there is no overlap, increase the length of the cable.
NOTE: To do this, loosen the jamnut and turn the rod end
