 USE ONE WRENCH ON THE CONDUIT CAP AND ONE WRENCH ON THE NOSE CAP.

Tighten the nose cap to 180-200 inch-pounds
 (20-22.5 newton-meters).
 1) Safety the nose cap with a lockwire.

Install the rod end bearing as follows: 1) Install the jamnut and rod end bearing on the cable end. 2) Examine the jamnut and rod end bearing to make sure the


 threads are sufficiently engaged. a) Make sure a 0.032 inch (0.80 mm) diameter lockwire will not go through the witness hole. 3) Tighten the jamnut against the rod end bearing to 24-27 inch-pounds (2.7-3.1 newton-meters).

VARIABLE STATOR VANE BELLCRANK ASSEMBLY - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

 1.  General
_______
 A.  This procedure gives removal and installation instructions for the variable stator vane (VSV) actuator bellcrank assemblies.
 B.  There are two VSV bellcrank assemblies attached to the forward stator case of the high pressure compressor (HPC).
 C.  They are found at at the 1:30 and 7:30 o'clock positions.
 D.  Differences in installation instructions between left and right bellcrank assemblies are given in the procedure.

Open the applicable thrust reverser half (AMM 78-31-00/201).

If the left bellcrank assembly is to be removed, remove the VSV feedback cable from the lever arm as follows:


 (a)  Remove the cotter pin from the nut.
