E. Prepare for the VBV Feedback Cable Adjustment (Fig. 501)

(1)
Open the left thrust reverser half (AMM 78-31-00/201).

(2)
If it is connected, disconnect the end of the VBV feedback cable from the MEC feedback arm as follows:
(a)
Remove the Allen head bolt and retainer clip from the MEC feedback arm.
(b)
Remove the pin to release the rod end bearing from the feedback arm.

(3) If it is connected, disconnect the end of the VBV feedback cable from the reverser arm on the stop mechanism of the bleed valve as follows:
(a)
Remove and discard the cotter pin from the nut.
(b)
Remove the nut and washer.
(c)
Remove the bolt to release the clevis end from the reverser arm.
F. Do the Resistance Check (Fig. 502)

(1) With the feedback cable fully extended at the stop mechanism end, attach a pull scale to the rod end bearing at the MEC end.
NOTE: Use a lockwire.

(a) Do a pull check.
NOTE: To do this, apply a force in a straight line (less than
____ 4 degrees from the cable centerline axis). Increase the force at a slow rate. Measure the force necessary to move the cable.
