 (6)  Remove the lower section of the 9th-stage duct.
 (a)  Keep the seals for the installation procedure.

Remove the sensor from the HPC bleed port.

Remove the flange gasket as follows:

 (a)  
Remove the sensor and flange gasket at the bleed port.

 (b)  
Remove and discard the C-seal from the flange gasket.

 (9)  If you must replace the sensor, remove the nipple and seal from the sensor port.
 NOTE: The seal is installed on the engine with CFMI SB 72-319.

 (1)  Install the Bleed Bias Sensor as follows:
 (a)  Put a new C-seal in the flange gasket.

(b)  
Make sure all mating surfaces are clean.

 (c)  
Put the flange gasket on the combustion case.

 (d)  
Make sure the holes of the gasket are aligned with the holes in the combustion case.

 (e)  
If a new sensor is used do the steps that follow:


 1)  ENGINES POST-CFMI-SB 72-319;
 Put a new seal on the nipple.

 WARNING:_______DO NOT LET ENGINE OIL STAY ON YOUR SKIN. USE ENGINE OIL IN AREA WITH GOOD VENTILATION. ENGINE OIL IS POISONOUS AND CAN BE ABSORBED THROUGH YOUR SKIN. ENGINE OIL FUMES CAN IRRITATE YOUR RESPIRATORY TRACT.
 2)  Lubricate the threads of the nipple (seal end) with engine
 oil.
 3)  Install the nipple in the sensor port.
 4)  Tighten the nipple to 135-150 pound-inches
 (15-17 Newton meters).
 (f)  Put the sensor on the combustion case with the CBP port pointed to the 6:00 o'clock position.
