Remove the 9 o'clock strut fairing.

(4) Disconnect the VBV CLOSED and VBV OPEN tubes from the fuel gear motor (Fig. 601).
(a)
Loosen the outer nut.
(b)
Move the outer nut and sleeve back along the external tube.
CAUTION: USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING

NUTS. IF YOU DO NOT USE TWO WRENCHES, YOU CAN CAUSE
DAMAGE TO THE TUBES.
(c)
Disconnect the connecting nut of the internal tube from the
nipple.
1) Use a container to catch the fuel that falls.
(d)
Remove and discard the two O-rings from the sliding sleeve and fixed sleeve of the external sleeve.

Remove the two nipples from the OPEN and CLOSED ports of the fuel gear motor (Fig. 601).

Remove the two filter screens from the OPEN and CLOSED ports of the fuel gear motor with a 9/32 inch Allen wrench.

Examine the filters for contamination.
(a) If contamination is found, replace the fuel gear motor
(AMM 75-32-02/401).
