Do a pressure test of the shrouds for leaks (Fig. 403).
(a) If the right VSV actuator is replaced, attach the pressure test hose to the parts that follow:
NOTE: Use an adjustable clamp to attach the hose.

1) The drain for the clearance control valve for the high pressure turbine. 2) The right VSV actuator seal and shroud drain (found at the rear drain assembly).
(b)
If the left VSV actuator is replaced, attach the pressure test hose to the left VSV actuator seal and shroud drain.
NOTE:____This is found at the rear drain assembly. Use an adjustable hose clamp to attach the hose.
(c)
Connect a dry air or a nitrogen source to the hose fitting for the pressure test. 1) Apply a pressure of 20-25 psi (138-173 kPA).

Turn off the air/nitrogen supply when you have the correct pressure.
(e)
Monitor the pressure for 2 minutes.
NOTE: A maximum of 10 psi (70 kPa) decrease is permitted.

(f) If the pressure drop is more than 10 psi (70 kPA), apply a leak detector to each connection and do a check for leakage. 1) If leakage is found at the head and rod end shrouds,
tighten the knurled nuts by hand to stop the leakage.
2) If the leakage continues, do the steps that follow: a) Replace the o-rings if it is necessary. b) Do a leak check.
3) If leakage is found at the connections for the shroud drain line, do the step that follows: a) Make sure the tube nuts are tightened to the correct
torque value. 4) If you do not find leakage at the connections, do a check for leakage at the junction plate connection as follows:
