Examine the cable attach brackets for damage, bends or cracks. 1) If it is not serviceable, replace the bracket.
(g)
Examine the cable attach clamps for damage or wear.
1) If it is not serviceable, replace the clamp.
(h)
Examine the cable fixed flange for damage, bends or cracks.
1) If it is not serviceable, replace the cable

FLEXIBLE SHAFT - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. This procedure contains two tasks. The first task is to remove the flexible shafts. The second task is to install the flexible shafts.
B. The 12 variable bleed valves have 11 flexible shafts installed between the bleed valve and ballscrew actuators on the fan frame.

Open the applicable thrust reverser half (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Remove the applicable fan duct panel (AMM 72-33-03/401).

Remove the flexible shaft as follows:
(a) Compress the spring, found in the hexagonal end of the flexible shaft, into the ballscrew actuator.
