(e)  Do a check for overlap of the centerline of the rod end bearing of the cable with the centerline of the cable attachment hole of the MEC feedback arm cable. 1) If there is no overlap, make the cable longer.
 NOTE: To do this, loosen the jamnut and turn the rod end

 bearing.

 (5)  Operate the VBV system to the full open position (AMM 75-32-00/201).
 (a)  
Attach a pull scale to the rod end bearing.

 (b)  
Apply a tension load of 15-17 pounds (67-76 N) in a line with the cable centerline axis.

 (c)  
Keep the load while you push the MEC feedback arm away from the cable attachment bracket.

 (d)  
Do a check for clearance between the centerline of the rod end bearing of the cable and the centerline of the cable attachment hole of the MEC feedback arm.

 (e)  
If there is no clearance, make the cable shorter.


 NOTE: To do this, loosen the jamnut and turn the rod end

 bearing.

 (f)  Do a check that the threads are engaged sufficiently.
 NOTE: To do this, make sure a 0.032 inch (0.80 mm) diameter
____ lockwire does not go through the witness hole.
 1)  If the threads are not correctly engaged, adjust the cable length.
 NOTE: To do this, turn the rod end bearing.
____
 2)  If the threads are not correctly engaged, do the steps to do the clearance check of the MEC feedback arm in the above steps.
 (g)  
If an adjustment of the rod end bearing was necessary, do the step that follows: 1) Tighten the jamnut against the rod end bearing to

 60-70 pound-inches (6.8-7.9 Newton meters).

 (h)  
Attach the rod end bearing to the MEC feedback arm. 1) Align the rod end bearing with the MEC feedback arm and


 install the pin. 2) Install the retainer clip and the fillister head screw. 3) Tighten the screw to 24-27 pound-inches
 (2.7-3.1 Newton meters).
 H.  Do the Static Rig Check (Fig. 504)
