(c)  
Disconnect the drain tube from the fuel gear motor for the bleed valve.

 (d)  
Remove the nipple and discard the o-ring.

 (8)  Disconnect the fuel supply tubes of the VBV as follows:
 NOTE: It is not necessary to disconnect other tubes from the 9
____ o'clock tube assembly. But, the removal of the stop mechanism of the bleed valve will be easier if you do the step that follows. Disconnect the tubes below the fuel gear motor for the VBV.
 (a)  
Loosen the bolts that attach the 9 o'clock tube assembly clamp to the engine flange bracket.

 (b)  
Remove the bolt that attaches the clamps on the VBV open and closed end fuel supply tubes to the bracket found below the transfer gearbox housing.

 (c)  
Loosen the coupling nuts.

 (d)  
Disconnect the two fuel supply tubes from the fuel gear motor for the bleed valve.

 (e)  
Remove the four bolts (two bolts each) that attach the centering plates to the junction plate.

 (f)  
Remove the centering plate.

 (g)  
Remove the two nipples.

 (h)  
Discard the o-rings.

 (9)  Disconnect the VBV feedback cable from the feedback reverser arm of the VBV as follows:
 (a)  
Remove and discard the cotter pin.

 (b)  
Remove the slotted nut and washer.

 (c)  
Remove the bolt to release the clevis end of the feedback cable.

 (10) Disconnect the feedback rod from the feedback reverser arm of the VBV as follows:
 (a)  Remove the bolt and disengage the clevis from the reverser arm.
 NOTE: Engines on which CFMI SB 72-235 has not been done, do
____ not have a self-locking nut. It is necessary on these engines to remove the cotter pin, slotted nut and washer.

 Remove the seven bolts that attach the fuel gear motor and stop mechanism of the bleed valve to the fan case.

 Remove the assembly, with the main flexible shaft, from the fan frame.

 Disengage the main flexible shaft from the stop mechanism of the bleed valve.

 Move apart the stop mechanism of the bleed valve from the fuel gear motor as follows:


 CAUTION: DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE BOOT ON THE STOP MECHANISM OF
_______ THE BLEED VALVE DURING SEPARATION.
 (a)  
Remove the four bolts and washers that attach the gear motor to the stop mechanism.

 (b)  
Move apart the gear motor from the stop mechanism.

 (c)  
Remove the o-ring from the mount diameter of the gear motor.


 NOTE: Discard the o-ring.

 (15) Do the preservation procedure on the fuel gear motor of the bleed valve as follows:
 (a)  
Put hydraulic fluid into one port of the fuel gear motor.

 (b)  
Turn the motor of the fuel gear motor shaft until fluid flows from the opposite port.

 (c)  
Install caps on the ports.
