Shock Strut Door Assembly Installation


 S 424-006
 (1)  
Put the door in its position on the shock strut of the landing gear.

 S 424-008

 (2)  
Install the bolts, washers and nuts to connect the upper (3) and the lower (5) door supports for the drag strut to the clamps (1 and 4).

Install the bolts, washers and nuts to connect the upper (10) door support for the drag strut to the clamp (11).

 (4)  S 424-052Tighten the nuts to 10-20 pound-inches (1.13-2.26 newton-meters).
 (5)  S 424-053Install the cotter pins. If it is necessary, loosen the nuts to the nearest castellation to align the holes for the pins.
 (6)  S 424-054Install the bolts, washers and nuts to connect the lower (8) door support for the drag strut to the clamp (9).
 (7)  S 034-009Disconnect the control rod for the outboard wing door.
 (8)  S 734-010Lift the airplane until all tires are clear of the ground (AMM 07-11-11/201).
 (9)  S 764-011Examine that electrical power is available.

 Connect the external hydraulic test bench.

Do not pressurize the hydraulic system A. S 034-013

 (11)
 Remove the ground lock assemblies on the repaired landing gear (AMM 32-00-01/201).

 Set the control lever for the landing gear in the UP position.


 S 724-015 CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE STRUT DOORS ARE CLEAR OF THE WING PANELS
_______ BEFORE YOU FULLY RETRACT THE GEAR. THE STRUT DOORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE WING PANELS IF THE DOOR ARE NOT CLEAR.
 (13) Operate the test bench to slowly retract the gear.
