NOSE LANDING GEAR DRAG BRACE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General________
A. This procedure contains two tasks:
(1)
The removal of the drag brace assembly from the nose landing gear.
(2)
The installation of the drag brace assembly on the nose landing gear.

Prepare to Remove the Drag Brace Assembly

Install the ground locks in all landing gear (AMM 32-00-01/201).

(2)
Lift the nose of the airplane on jacks until the nose landing gear wheels are off the ground (AMM 07-11-21/201).
NOTE: Do not deflate the shock strut.

C. Procedure to Remove the Drag Brace Assembly

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE SHOCK STRUT FOR THE NOSE LANDING GEAR IS
_______ FULLY EXTENDED BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT THE DRAG BRACE. A SHOCK STRUT THAT IS PARTIALLY COMPRESSED CAN MOVE QUICKLY IF THE SHOCK STRUT IS NOT FULLY EXTENDED. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1)
Remove the bolt (3) to disconnect the actuator of the nose landing gear (1) from the upper link (2) of the drag brace.

Remove the bolt (11) to disconnect the drag brace from the lock link assembly (8)

(3)
Remove the spacer bushings (7, 9) from the two sides of the lock link (8).

Hold the shock strut assembly, the upper drag brace, and the lower drag brace.
