Do an extension and a retraction test of the nose landing gear (AMM 32-33-00/501).

Do a test on the manual extension system of the nose landing gear (AMM 32-35-00/501).

Remove the pressure from the hydraulic system A (AMM 29-15-00/201).

Do a steering test of the nose wheel.
(a)
Lift the nose of the airplane with jacks until the tires of the gear will be clear of the ground (AMM 07-11-21/201).
(b)
Put the turning plates with grease below the tires of the nose landing gear.
(c)
Lower the nose of the airplane until the landing gear can hold the weight of the airplane.
(d)
Pressurize the hydraulic system A (AMM 29-15-00/201).
(e)
Make sure that the nose landing gear does not try to move when you pressurize the hydraulic system A.
(f)
Make sure that the steering wheel is in the neutral (centered) position.
(g)
Make sure that the rudder pedals are in the neutral position.
(h)
Turn the steering wheel counterclockwise to the left stop position and hold. 1) Make sure that the nose landing gear will move to the left
at approximately 78 degrees.
(i)
Turn the steering wheel clockwise to the right stop position and hold.
CAUTION:_______ DO NOT OPERATE THE STEERING WHEEL WITH THE SHOCK STRUT FULLY
EXTENDED AND THE TORSION LINKS ARE CONNECTED. DAMAGE TO THE
CENTERING CAMS OF THE SHOCK STRUT CAN OCCUR. IF IT IS
NECESSARY TO OPERATE THE STEERING SYSTEM, MAKE SURE THAT YOU
COMPRESS THE SHOCK STRUT TO 2.10 INCHES OR MORE. MAKE SURE
THAT THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE BOTTOM SURFACE OF THE LOWER
STEERING PLATE AND THE TOP SURFACE OF THE TOWING LUG IS LESS
THAN 23.4 INCHES.
1) Make sure that the nose landing gear will move to the right side at approximately 78 degrees.

Release the steering wheel. 1) Make sure that the steering wheel will go back to the neutral position.
2) Make sure that the nose landing gear will go back to the center position.
(k)
Push the left rudder pedal forward until it touches the rudder quadrant stop. 1) Make sure that the nose landing gear will move to the left
side at approximately 7 degrees.
(l)
Release the rudder pedal. 1) Make sure that the rudder pedals will go back to the neutral position.
2) Make sure that the nose landing gear will go back to the center position.
(m)
Use the right rudder pedal and do the steps (k) and (l).
