_______ (MASTINOX 6856K). IF MASTINOX GETS ON YOUR SKIN, IMMEDIATELY REMOVE IT WITH WATER. IF THIS MATERIAL GETS IN YOUR EYES, IMMEDIATELY FLUSH YOUR EYES WITH WATER AND GET MEDICAL AID. THIS MATERIAL CONTAINS VERY POISONOUS AND FLAMMABLE AGENTS WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS.
CAUTION: REMOVE UNWANTED MASTINOX FROM SURFACES THAT YOU WILL LUBRICATE.
_______ IF YOU APPLY MASTINOX TO JOINTS THAT TURN, FAILURE OF THE LANDING GEAR TO EXTEND OR RETRACT COULD OCCUR.

Apply corrosion inhibiting compound, Mastinox 6856K, to the parts of the beam hanger shaft (4) which are not lubricated through a lubrication fitting after installation.

Apply MIL-PRF-23827, or the preferred grease BMS 3-33 to the parts of the beam hanger shaft which are lubricated through a lubrication fitting after installation (AMM 12-20-00/301).

(4)
Install the beam hanger shaft (4), spacers (16), and stud assembly (18) in the beam hanger (15) (View A-A, Fig. 401, Sht 2).
(a)
Tighten the stud assembly (18) by hand.

(5) Connect the beam hanger (15) to the wing structure.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE SHORT FLAT SIDE OF THE LUG ON THE BEAM
_______ HANGER SHAFT (4) IS FACING DOWN. THE BEAM HANGER SHAFT IS NOT SYMMETRICAL. IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE SHAFT CORRECTLY, DAMAGE TO THE STRUCTURE CAN OCCUR WHEN YOU RETRACT THE LANDING GEAR.
(a) Position the beam hanger shaft (4) and the stud assembly (18) to the brackets on the structure.

(b) Install the bolts that attach the stud assembly (18) and the beam hanger shaft (4) to the brackets on the structure.
NOTE: The bolts can be installed with their heads on the
____
inboard or the outboard side.
(c)
Install the washers and the nut on the attachment bolts.
(d)
Tighten the nuts by hand.

(6)
Make sure there is sufficient clearance for movement of the beam hanger (15) during landing gear retraction.
(a)
Move the control lever for the landing gear to OFF.
(b)
Push the beam hanger (15) up and outboard.
(c)
Make sure the clearance between the bolt (3) and the landing gear beam is not less than 0.05 inch during the travel.
NOTE:____Make sure the head of bolt (3) is pointed aft. If it is not aft, install the bolt so the head is aft (AMM 32-32-11/401).
(d)
Make sure the clearance between the hanger (15) and the aileron cable is not less than 0.160 inch during the travel.
WARNING: MAKE SURE YOU KEEP SUFFICIENT CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE BEAM
_______ HANGER (15) AND THE AILERON CABLE WHEN YOU ADJUST THE SPACERS (16). IF THE CLEARANCE IS LESS THAN 0.160 INCH, THE CABLE COULD TOUCH THE HANGER DURING FLIGHT AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE CABLE.
(e) If the clearance between the bolt (3) and the landing gear beam is not sufficient, add spacers (16) to the aft side of the hanger (15).

Make sure the beam hanger (15) has free movement on the shaft (4).
(a)
Push the beam hanger (15) aft to the end of its travel.
(b)
737-300/-500 AIRPLANES; Make sure the clearance between the beam hanger shaft (4), and the spacers (16) is 0.001 to 0.135 inch. 1) If the clearance is not correct, adjust the spacers (16) on
each side of the beam hanger (15).
