Connect the hydraulic lines.

Lift the airplane for the nose gear retraction (Ref Chapter 7, Airplane Lifting).
(j)
Pressurize the hydraulic system A (Ref 29-15-00, MP).
WARNING: REMOVE THE EQUIPMENT AND PERSONS FROM THE WHEEL WELL AREAS
_______ BEFORE YOU OPERATE THE GEAR. IT CAN PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO STRUCTURE.
(k)
Remove the ground lock assemblies.
(l)
Operate the gear retraction for several times to bleed air from the package and the lines.
WARNING: MAKE SURE YOU INSTALL THE GROUND LOCK ASSEMBLIES IN THE
_______ MAIN LANDING GEAR TO PREVENT THE ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OF THE GEAR. IT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT IF THE GEAR RETRACTS.
(m)
Examine the hydraulic connections for leakage.
(n)
Extend the gear.
(2)
Lower the airplane and remove the jacks.

1. Nose Gear Transfer Cylinder Removal (Fig. 401)___________________________________
A. Equipment
(1)
Ground Lock Assemblies (AMM 32-00-01).
B.
Prepare for the removal.

(1)
Make sure that you install the ground lock assemblies for the landing gears (AMM 32-00-01).
(a)
Decrease the pressure from the hydraulic system (AMM 29-15-00/201).

Procedure

(1)
Disconnect and seal the hydraulic lines that attach to the cylinder.
(a)
Loosen the clamp bolts until you can remove the transfer cylinder.
(b)
Remove the cylinder from the airplane.
(c)
Remove the hydraulic unions.
(d)
Discard the O-ring packings.
NOTE: Put a plug on the ports.

Procedure
(1)
Remove the plugs.

Install the hydraulic unions in the transfer cylinder with new O-ring packings.
(a)
Fill the transfer cylinder from the two ends with hydraulic fluid.

NOTE: Put a cap on the unions.

(b) Put the transfer cylinder in the clamps.

(c) Adjust the position of the cylinder until you align the
hydraulic lines.
(d) Remove the caps.
NOTE:____ Put a plug and connect the hydraulic lines with your
hand.
(e) Tighten the clamps and hold the cylinder.
(f) Tighten the hydraulic lines.
(g) Lift the airplane for the nose gear retraction (Ref Chapter 7,
Airplane Lifting).
(h) Pressurize the hydraulic system A (AMM 29-15-00/201).
