NOSE LANDING GEAR TORSION LINKS - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
A. This procedure contains two tasks:
(1)
The removal of the torsion link on the nose landing gear.
(2)
The installation of the torsion link on the nose landing gear.

(1)
Make sure that the ground locks are installed in the nose landing gear (AMM 32-00-01/201).
S 584-003
(2)
Lift the nose of the airplane until the wheels of the nose landing gear are clear from the ground (AMM 07-11-11/201).
S 584-009
(3)
Lower the tail support jack when you lift the nose.
S 034-004
(4)
Disconnect the wire harness from torsion links and use a tape to attach the wire harness to the shock strut.
S 014-005
(5)
Remove the two wheels from the nose landing gear (AMM 32-45-21/401).
S 584-006
(6)
Lift the axle on the nose landing gear on jacks to decrease the load on the torsion links.

(7)
Remove the apex bolt (18) to disconnect the torsion links.

Remove the cotter pin (20) from the nut on the apex bolt.
