 (a)  
Remove the nut, the washer, and the collar bolt (2) that hold the crank retaining collar (3).

 (b)  
Remove the pin, nut, washer from the uplock support shaft (5).

 (c)  
Remove the uplock support shaft (5) to disconnect the uplock crank (4) from the support frame (7) and the uplock support fitting (8).

 (d)  
Get the crank collar (3) when you remove the shaft.


 NOTE: Tag the position, number, and size of the shims (6)
____ installed below the shaft head and between the uplock crank (4) and the uplock support fitting (8) for the assembly.

This procedure supplies instructions to install the uplock assembly.

 WARNING: MAKE SURE THE GROUND LOCK PINS ARE INSTALLED ON ALL THE LANDING
_______ GEAR. WITHOUT THE GROUND LOCK PINS, THE LANDING GEAR COULD RETRACT AND CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (1)
If the ground lock pins are not installed in the nose and the main landing gear, install the ground lock pins (AMM 32-00-01/201).

Main Landing Gear Uplock Assembly Installation


 S 424-020
 (1)  
Put the uplock assembly in its position on the airplane.

 (2)  
Connect the uplock assembly to the reaction link (24):

 (a)  
Install the crank attachment bolt (23) with the head to the antirotation lug on the reaction link (24).

 (b)  
Install the washer, and the nut on the crank attachment bolt (23).

 (c)  
Tighten the self-locking nut and measure the torque it takes to run it on the threads of the crank attachment bolt (23).


 NOTE: The run-on torque is between 90 - 800
____ inch-pounds (10.2 - 90.4 newton-meters).
 (d)  Add 50 - 100 lb-in (5.6 - 11.3 newton-meters) to the measured run-on torque in the step above and tighten the nut for the final torque.

_______ SUPPORT FRAME, AND BETWEEN THE UPLOCK SUPPORT SHAFT AND THE UPLOCK SUPPORT FITTING. LUBRICATE THESE SECTIONS OF THE UPLOCK SUPPORT SHAFT AND MAKE SURE THEY ARE FREE TO TURN.
 (3)  
Connect the uplock assembly to the support frame (7), and the uplock support fitting (8):

 (a)  
Apply Mastinox 6856K to the uplock support shaft (5) before the installation (AMM 12-21-11/301).

 (b)  
Align the holes in the uplock crank (4) to the hole in the support frame (7) for installation of the uplock support shaft (5).

 (c)  From the forward side, put the uplock support shaft (5) through the support frame (7), uplock crank (4), and the crank collar (3). 1) Install the shims (6), which are tagged in the removal
 procedure on the same location.
 NOTE: The shims must be installed with chamfer against the

 head of the pin.

 2) If it is necessary to install new shims, assemble three
 0.06 inch (1.52 millimeter) thickness shims between the uplock crank (4), and the support frame (7).
