_______ A GREASE NIPPLE. IF YOU APPLY MASTINOX TO THE JOINTS THAT TURN, FAILURE OF THE LANDING GEAR TO EXTEND OR RETRACT CAN OCCUR.
 (1)  
Clean and lightly lubricate all bolts and washers before you install them.

 (a)  
Apply grease on parts.


 NOTE: Apply Mastinox 6856K to parts that are not lubricated
____ with grease after installation.
 NOTE: Apply a layer of MIL-G-23827 , or the preferred grease
____ BMS 3-33 to parts that are lubricated with grease after installation (AMM 12-20-00/301).
 (b)  
Put the actuator in its position for installation with the rod end up and the hydraulic ports forward.

 (c)  
Install a countersunk washer on the upper attachment bolt (11) with the countersink pointed at the bolt head.

 (d)  
Align the rod end of the actuator with the fork in the lock brace (9).

 (e)  
Install the washer and nut.

 (f)  Tighten the nut 300 to 400 pound-inches.
 NOTE: If the hole for the cotter pin does not align when the
____ torque is in the limits: Change the nut or add a washer below the bolt head (between the lock brace (9) and the countersunk washer).
 (g)  
Lock the nut with the cotter pin.

 (h)  
Put the lower end of the actuator in the bracket (3) with nylon washers (5) (See step E).

 (i)  
Install the lower attachment bolt (4) from the left side of the airplane with the countersunk washer below the head (See step C).

 (j)  
Install the washer and nut.

 (k)  
Tighten the nut 300 to 400 pound-inches.


 NOTE: If the hole for the cotter pin does not align when the
____ torque is in the limits: Change the nut or add a washer below the bolt head (between the lock brace (9) and the countersunk washer).
 (l)  
Lock the nut with the cotter pin.

 (m)  
On airplanes with the bracket (13), install the bracket (13).

 (n)  
Remove the caps and the plugs.


 NOTE: Make sure that hoses are the correct length, otherwise
____ damage to the hoses and other components may occur (AMM 20-10-52).
 (o)  Connect the hydraulic lines to the actuator.
 WARNING: REMOVE PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT FROM THE NOSE GEAR PATH.
_______ WHEN THE NOSE GEARS RETRACT, THEY CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (p)  Lift the airplane for nose gear retraction (Ref Chapter 7, Airplane Lifting).

 (2)  
Pressurize the hydraulic system A (AMM 29-15-00/201).

 (a)  
Remove the ground lock assembly for the nose landing gear (AMM 32-00-01/201).

 WARNING:_______ MAKE SURE YOU INSTALL THE GROUND LOCK ASSEMBLIES IN THE
 MAIN LANDING GEAR TO PREVENT THE ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OF
 THE GEAR.  IT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO

 EQUIPMENT IF THE GEAR RETRACTS.
 (b)  Operate the gear through several extension and retractions.
 NOTE: It will bleed the air from the actuator and the lines.
____ Examine for the correct gear operation.
 (c)  
Examine the hydraulic connections for leaks.

 (d)  
Extend the nose landing gear and install the ground lock assembly (AMM 32-00-01/201).

 (e)  
Decrease the pressure from the hydraulic system A (AMM 29-15-00/201).

 (f)  
Lower the airplane.


 NOTE: Remove the jacks.

 (g)  
If the airplane jacks are not available or lifting the airplane is not possible, do the nose gear retraction as follows:

 (h)  
Make sure you install the hydraulic hoses correctly without twisted.
