Procedure
 S 844-005
 (1)  Clean the bolt shanks and all mating surfaces of the actuator and the parts for the installation of the nose gear actuator (8) with solvent.
 NOTE: Apply a thin layer of grease on each part.

 (2)  
Install the new O-rings in the union (6) and restrictor (19).
 (a)  
Install the union (6) in the actuator top port and restrictor in the bottom port of the actuator.
 (b)  
Fill the actuator with the hydraulic fluid.
 S 614-008
 (3)  
While you extend the piston (18), fill the restrictor (19) until the piston is fully retracted.
 (a)  
Put a cap on the union (6) and restrictor (19).
 (b)  
Set the actuator in the clamp (7) with the rod end (9) down.
 (c)  
With the restrictor (19) on the right, move the hydraulic lines (5) and (20) into their respective union and restrictor.
 NOTE: Do the steps D and E at the same time.

 (d)  Move the rod end (9) into the swivel bearing (14) in the upper link (13) of the drag brace.

 (e)  
Put the nylon washers (12) and (15) between the rod end (9) and the swivel bearing (14) on each side of the swivel bearing.
 (f)  
Install the lubricated bolt (10) with the washer (11) below the bolt head with the countersink to the bolt head.
 (g)  
Install the washer (17) and the nut (16).
 (h)  
Tighten the nut (16) 1500 to 1800 pound-inches.
 NOTE: If you can not install the cotter pin in the specified
____ torque range, change the nuts or add one flat washer below the washer (11). Use the two methods if it is necessary.
 (i)  
Install the cotter pin (26).
 (j)  
Move the fitting (2) of the actuator into the fitting (24) on the top of the wheel well.
 (k)  
Install the nylon washer (1) and (23) between the fitting (2) on the actuator and the fitting (24).
 (l)  
Install the lubricated bolt (4) with the washer (3) below the bolt head with the countersink to the bolt head.
 (m)  
Install the washer (22) and the nut (21).
 (n)  
Tighten the nut 1500 to 1800 pound-inches.
 NOTE: If you can not install the cotter pin in the specified
____ torque range, change the nuts or add one flat washer below the washer. Use the two methods if it is necessary.
 (o)  
Install the cotter pin (25).
