NOSE GEAR BUNGEE SPRING - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. Nose Gear Bungee Spring Removal (Fig 401)

A. Equipment
(1)
Ground Lock Assemblies (Ref 32-00-01)
B.
Prepare for the procedure.

Make sure that you install the ground lock assemblies in the main and the nose gears (Ref 32-00-01).

Procedure
S 024-009
(1)
Remove the nut and washer from end of the lock brace shaft (19).
(a)
Extend the spring.
NOTE: Move the end of the spring off the lock brace shaft

(19).
(b)
Remove the nut (7) and washer from the spring retainer bolt.
(c)
Remove the spring.
(d)
Place the nut (7) on the spring retainer bolt.
NOTE: Tighten the bolt with your hand.

2. Nose Gear Bungee Spring Installation (Fig. 401)

A. Procedure

(1)
Install the bungee spring.
(a)
Remove the nut (7) from the spring retainer bolt.
(b)
Put the spring on the spring retainer bolt.
NOTE: Add the washer and the nut (7).

(c) Tighten the nut with your hand.
NOTE: Lock the nut with the cotter pin.
____
(d)
Extend the spring.
(e)
Move the connection above each end of the lock spring shaft (19).
(f)
Add the washer and the nut.
