Prepare for Adjustment


 S 215-002
 (1)  
Make sure that the ground lockpins are installed in the main gear (AMM 32-00-01/201).

Lift the airplane on jacks for gear retraction (AMM 07-11-11/201).

Make sure that electrical power is available.

Connect the external hydraulic test bench.

Remove the ground lockpins of the landing gear you will adjust (AMM 32-00-01/201).

Adjust Main Gear Wing Door

 (1)  
Supply hydraulic power with a test bench.

 (2)  
Move the landing gear control lever in the UP position to retract the gear.

 (3)  
Move the landing gear control lever to the OFF position.

 (4)  Apply a preload of 50 +/- 5 pounds to the inboard edge of the door along an area at least 2.0 inches wide.
 NOTE: The applied preload must break contact between the stops and

 the door.

 (a)  Make sure the flushness of the door and the wing profile, with the preload applied, is 0.0 +/- 0.10 inch.

The clearance between the wing door and the wing lower trailing edge skin must be 0.06 to 0.35 inch and have a flushness of +0.06/-0.06 inch.

If the wing door does not align with the wing contour, or the clearance is not within tolerance, extend the gear and adjust the actuating rod assembly to fair door with wing profile at the forward edge common to door and seal plate fairing.


 NOTE: A change in the adjustment of the wing door can have an
____ effect on the adjustment of the shock strut doors. Refer to AMM 32-13-11 to do a check on the adjustment of the shock strut doors.

If it is necessary, you can add shims between the hinge bolt heads and the stabilizer beam to fair the door with the wing profile for streamwise edges and for spanwise edges.

Do the above steps again until you get the dimensions given above.

Restore Airplane to Normal

 (1)
Remove electrical and hydraulic power if they are not necessary.

 (2)  
Lower the airplane and remove the jacks (AMM 07-11-11/201).
