Remove the equipments and clear the lower area of the airplane.

 WARNING:_______ MAKE SURE YOU DEFLATE THE SHOCK STRUT FULLY BEFORE YOU LOOSEN
 THE VALVE BODY.  THE AIR PRESSURE CAN BLOW THE VALVE BODY OUT
 WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
 MAKE SURE THAT NO PERSONS OR EQUIPMENT BELOW THE AIRPLANE
 BEFORE YOU DEFLATE THE SHOCK STRUT.  INJURY TO PERSONS OR
 DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE CAN OCCUR.

 Remove the dust cap from the air valve at the top of the shock strut.

 Slowly loosen the nut to one or two turns until you can install the oleo lock assembly on the torsion links.


 NOTE: The fluid in shock strut will start to bubble immediately as
____ you reduce the pressure to ambient. Deflate the shock strut slowly to prevent the fluid leakage through the air valve.

 Install the oleo lock assembly for the nose landing gear to keep the shock strut compressed.

 Lift the nose of the airplane with the jacks until the tires will clear from the ground (AMM 07-11-21/201).


 NOTE: You can lower the jack that supports the tail of the airplane
____ while you lift the nose landing gear.
