Prepare to Install the Wing Door
S 424-007
(1)
Install the initial wing door.
(a)
Put the door in its position and install the hinge bolts, washers, and nuts.
(b)
AIRPLANES WITH SELF-LOCKING NUT; Tighten the self-locking nut to 180-250 pound-inches (20.3-28.2 newton-meters).
(c)
AIRPLANES WITH COTTER PIN;
Tighten the nut to 100-140 pound-inches (11.3-15.8
newton-meters).
1) If it is necessary, loosen the nut to the nearest
castellation to align the hole for the cotter pin.
(d)
Install the cotter pin.
(e)
Adjust the actuating rod assembly to a nominal of 7.60 inches after you install a new actuating rod .
NOTE: The distance of 7.60 inches is measured between the
____ centers of the bolts attach to the end.
(f)
Connect the actuating rod assembly.
(g)
Tighten the nut to 450-500 pound-inches (50.8-56.5
newton-meters).
1) If it is necessary, loosen the nut to the nearest
castellation to align the hole for the cotter pin.
(h)
Install the cotter pin.
(i)
Connect the bonding jumper.
(j)
Adjust the wing door on the main landing gear after you install a new actuating rod (AMM 32-13-21/501).

(2)
Install the replacement wing door.
(a)
Remove special bolts and install the replacement bolts with undrilled heads (part number 69-54970) in the stabilizer beam.
(b)
Make a mark on the bolts and the stabilizer beam to make sure you install the bolts correctly.
