737-400 AIRPLANES; Make sure the clearance between the stud assembly (18), and the beam hanger shaft (4) is 0.01 to 0.06 inches.
(d)
After you adjust the spacers (16), or the stud assembly (18), make sure the clearances for the following components stay the same: 1) Clearance between the attachment bolt (3) and the landing
gear beam. 2) Clearance between the beam hanger and the aileron cable.
CAUTION: BEFORE YOU TIGHTEN THE NUTS, MAKE SURE THE SHORT FLAT SIDE
_______ OF THE LUG ON THE BEAM HANGER SHAFT (4) IS FACING DOWN. THE BEAM HANGER SHAFT IS NOT SYMMETRICAL. IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE SHAFT CORRECTLY, DAMAGE TO THE STRUCTURE CAN OCCUR WHEN YOU RETRACT THE LANDING GEAR.
(e) Tighten the nuts to 130 - 180 pound-inches for the attachment bolts of the beam hanger shaft (4) and the stud assembly (18).

Connect the actuator beam (1) to the actuator beam arm (8) on the landing gear:
(a)
Apply a thin layer of grease to the nut, washer, and attachment bolt (7).
(b)
Hold the inboard end of the actuator beam (1) in its position in the actuator beam arm (8).
(c)
Make sure the bolt head is inboard, and install the attachment bolt (7), washer, and nut.
(d)
On bolt with four cotter pin holes,
Measure and record self-locking torque of nut.
NOTE: The self-locking torque should be 90 to 800
____
pound-inches.
1) Add 250 to 300 pound-inches to the measured self-locking torque.
NOTE: This is the installation torque.
____
2) Install the cotter pin.
(e) On bolt with eight cotter pin holes, tighten the nut 600 to 1800 pound-inches lube torque, and install the cotter pin.
NOTE: Make sure the installation torque is within the range.

(f) On bolt with one cotter pin hole, Tighten the nut 840 to 1080 pound-inches lube torque. 1) Loosen the nut and tighten it again 60 to 120 pound-inches
lube torque.
2) Install the cotter pin.
NOTE: If it is necessary, loosen the nut to the nearest
____ possible lock position to install the cotter pin. Zero torque is permitted when you do this.

Install the outer wing door (14) on the wing.
(a)
Put primer on the hinge bolts (9) of the wing door. Keep the primer off the threads of the bolts.
(b)
Hold the stabilizing beam (10) in its position on the wing structure.
(c)
Hold the outer wing door in its position, and install the two hinge bolts (9).
(d)
Install the washers and nuts on the hinge bolts, and tighten the nuts to 360 to 630 pound-inches.

Connect the outer wing door pushrod (12) to the trunnion link (11).
(a)
Make sure the bolt head is forward, and install the bolt, washers, and nut.
(b)
Tighten the nut to 100 to 140 pound-inches, and install the cotter pin.

Connect the bonding cable (13) to the wing structure.

Make sure the landing gear retracts and extends correctly.
(a)
Lift the airplane on jacks for gear retraction
(AMM 07-11-11/201).
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE AWAY FROM THE
_______ PATH OF OPERATION OF THE MAIN LANDING GEAR AND NOSE LANDING GEAR. FAST MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR COULD CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(b) Do a retraction test of the main landing gear on which you did the maintenence (AMM 32-32-00/501).
