(1)
Clean the drag brace pins, the washers, and the nuts with solvent.
(a)
Lubricate the pin threads and the washer faces with grease.
NOTE: Apply a layer of Mastinox 6856K to parts which are not
____ lubricated with grease after installation (AMM 12-21-21/301).
NOTE: Apply a layer of MIL-PRF-23827, or the preferred grease
____ BMS 3-33 to parts which are lubricated with grease after installation (AMM 12-20-00/301).

Make a line on the drag brace pin (21) from the center of the bolt hole (18) to the threaded end of the pin.
(3)
Correctly pair the spherical bearing (19) with the upper drag brace.

Apply a layer of Mastinox 6856K to each drag brace pin (21) (AMM 12-21-21/301).

Set the upper drag brace and put each pin (21) through the trunnion (24) into the spherical bearing (19) on each wheel well bulkhead.
NOTE: Keep the line on the pin (21) aligned with the center of the
____ bolt hole on the trunnion to decrease the difficulty of the bolt (18) installation.

Clean the antirotation bolts (18) with solvent.

Apply a thin layer of Mastinox 6856K to each bolt (AMM 12-21-21/301).

Install the antirotation bolt (18) in each drag brace pin (21).

Install the nut (20) on each drag brace pin and tighten by hand, then turn it to the next cotter pin castellation.
