Main Landing Gear Uplock Link Assembly Removal

(1)
Disconnect the uplock spring (14):
(a)
Remove the lockwire from the spring pins (16).
(b)
Remove the spring pins (16) and the lower spring shaft (22) to release the uplock springs (14) from the link assembly (10).

(c) Disconnect the uplock springs (14) from the uplock assembly.

Disconnect the uplock actuator (17):
(a)
Remove the nuts, the washers, and the bearings (9) from the actuator pin (12).
(b)
Remove the actuator pin (12) to disconnect the uplock link assembly (10) from the actuator uplock (17).
(c)
Move the inboard end of the uplock actuator (17) from the work area.
(d)
Remove the link attachment bolt (11) that holds the uplock link assembly (10) to the uplock crank (4).
(e)
Remove the uplock link assembly (10) from the airplane.

7. Main Landing Gear Uplock Link Assembly Installation (Fig. 401)

A. Prepare for the Installation

WARNING: MAKE SURE THE GROUND LOCK PINS ARE INSTALLED ON ALL THE LANDING
_______ GEAR. WITHOUT THE GROUND LOCK PINS, THE LANDING GEAR COULD RETRACT AND CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1)
If the ground lock pins are not installed in the nose and the main landing gear, install the ground lock pins (AMM 32-00-01/201).
B.
Main Landing Gear Uplock Link Assembly Installation

(1)
Connect the uplock link assembly (10):
(a)
Put the link assembly (10) in its position on the uplock crank (4) with the cutouts for the stop link that points the hook.
(b)
Put the bolt (11) through the stop link with the head forward.
NOTE: Butter lubricate threads with MIL-PRF-23827.

(c) Install washer, nut, and tighten nut to 125 inch-pounds
(14.1 newton-meters) over run-on torque.
NOTE: If necessary, back off nut to nearest possible locking
____ position and install cotter pin. Zero torque condition is acceptable.
(d)
Put the lower spring shaft (22) through the links (10), stop link (20), and hook (15) to connect the stop link (20) to the link assembly.
(e)
Add a washer on each end of the lower spring shaft (22).

(f) Install the ends of the uplock springs (14) on the lower spring shaft (22).
NOTE: Hold the uplock springs with the spring pins (16).

(g) Put the lockwire through the spring pins.
NOTE: Lock the lockwire with the double twist method.

(h)
Connect the uplock actuator (17) to the link assembly (10).
(i)
Put the actuator pin (12) through the link assembly (10).
(j)
Add the bearing (9), washer, and nut to each end of the pin (12).
(k)
Tighten the nuts 4 - 6 pound-feet (5.4 - 8.1 newton-meters).

(1)
You must remove the uplock hook (15) and the link assembly (10) before you can remove the uplock crank (4).
