WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT YOU INSTALL THE GROUND LOCKS IN THE MAIN
_______ LANDING GEAR TO PREVENT ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OF THE GEAR. FAILURE TO INSTALL THE GROUND LOCKS WILL CAUSE THE GEAR TO RETRACT WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(c)
Pressurize the hydraulic system A (Ref 29-15-00/201).
(d)
Use the override trigger and move the landing gear lever from the DN position to the UP position and back three times.
NOTE: Hold the landing gear lever in each position for three
____ seconds before you move the landing gear lever to the subsequent position.
(e)
Make sure the landing gear lever is in the DN position.
(f)
Do a check for leakage while you pressurize the system.
(g)
Remove the pressure from the hydraulic system A (Ref 29-15-00/201).
(h)
Make sure there is no leaks in the hydraulic connections.

MAIN GEAR DOWNLOCK SPRING ASSEMBLY - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. Main Gear Downlock Springs Removal (Fig. 401)__________________________________
A. Equipment
(1)
Ground Lock Assemblies (AMM 32-00-01/201)

Spring Expander Set - F80169-1

Procedure

(1)
Make sure that you install the ground lock assemblies for the landing gear (AMM 32-00-01/201).

Decrease the pressure from the hydraulic system A
(AMM 29-15-00/201).
(a)
Remove the cotter pins, nuts, and washers from the aft downlock spring attachment.
(b)
Install the spring expander on the aft downlock spring and release the spring tension.
(c)
Disconnect the inboard end of the aft downlock spring and remove the spring and the spacer from the airplane.
(d)
Install the spring expander on the forward downlock spring and release the spring tension.
(e)
Disconnect the outboard end of the forward downlock spring.
(f)
Remove the inboard bolt, forward spring, and spacer.

Procedure
S 864-005
(1)
Put the forward downlock spring in its position with the long shaft end inboard.
S 424-006
(2)
Install the inboard bolt and spacers.
(a)
Install the spring expander on the forward downlock spring and extend the spring to attach.
(b)
Connect the spring to the outboard attachment.
(c)
Install the nut and washer and tighten the nut.
(d)
Put the aft downlock spring in its position with the long shaft end inboard.
(e)
Connect the outboard end of the spring and install the nut and washer.
(f)
Install the spring expander on the aft downlock spring and extend the spring to fit.
