 (MASTINOX 6856K).  IF MASTINOX GETS ON YOUR SKIN, IMMEDIATELY
 REMOVE IT WITH WATER.  IF THIS MATERIAL GETS IN YOUR EYES,

 NOTE: Apply a layer of MIL-PRF-23827, or the preferred grease BMS
____ 3-33 to parts which are lubricated with grease after installation (AMM 12-20-00/301).

Apply a layer of a grease lightly to the washers and faces of the nuts.

Put the lower torsion link (10) in its position for connection to the inner cylinder (6).

Install the pin (31) to connect the lower torsion link (10) to the inner cylinder (6).

Put the end caps (32) on each end of the pin (31).

Connect the lower torsion link (10) to the inner cylinder (6):

 (a)  
Put the retaining pin (33) through the end caps (32), and the pin (31).

 (b)  
Install the washer, and the nut on each end of the retaining pin (33).

 (c)  
Tighten the nuts to 30-80 inch-pounds.

 (d)  
Install the cotter pin in each end of the retaining pin (33). If it is necessary, loosen the nuts to the nearest castellation to align the holes for the cotter pins.

 Put the upper torsion link (3) in its position for connection to the steering collar.

 Install the pin (31) to connect the upper torsion link (3) to the steering collar on the outer cylinder (1).

 Put the end caps (32) on each end of the pin (31).

 Connect the upper torsion link (3) to the steering collar:

 (a)  
Put the retaining pin (33) through the end caps (32), and the pin (31).

 (b)  
Install the washer, and the nut on each ends of the retaining pin (33).

 (c)  
Tighten the nuts to 30-80 inch-pounds.

 (d)  
Install the cotter pins in each end of the retaining pin (33). If it is necessary, loosen the nuts to the nearest castellation to align the holes for the the cotter pins.

 Connect upper and lower torsion links.

 (a)  
Lift the nose gear axle to the correct position and connect ends of upper (3) and lower (10) torsion links.

 (b)  
Install the apex bolt (18).

 (c)  
Install the thrust bearing (21), with the seal points to the nut, and the bushing (21A) on the apex bolt (18).

 (d)  
Install the nut on the bolt and tighten the nut 225 - 250 pound-inches.

 (e)  
Loosen the nut and tighten by hand.

 (f)  
If it is necessary, loosen the nut more to align the locking holes.
