Prepare for the Test

Connect the external electrical power to the airplane (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Remove these panels to get access to the AFT valves for the main tanks and all of the center tank valves (AMM 57-30-11/401).

 WARNING:  MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE
_______ AND TE FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. WITH HYDRAULIC POWER REMOVED, THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (3)  Extend the leading edge flaps (AMM 27-81-00/201).

 WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY DO THE STEPS IN THE TASK BELOW TO INSTALL
_______ THE LE FLAP SAFETY LOCKS. THE LE FLAPS CAN MOVE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE SAFETY LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (4)  Install the flap locks on the leading edge flap (AMM 27-81-00/201).

 CAUTION:_______YOU MUST REMOVE THE CLEARANCE PANEL. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE
 TO THE WARNING SIGNAL FOR THE REMOVAL VALVE WHEN YOU CLOSE THE
 VALVE.
 (5)  
Remove the small clearance panels from the bottom of the wing, below the handles on the removal valve for the FWD boost pump (Fig. 503).

Make sure each of the fuel tanks contains sufficient fuel to go through the valves (Ref Table 1).

Make sure the manual defueling valve is closed.

 (b)  
Make sure the APU master switch on the P5 panel is in the OFF position.

 (c)  
Close the circuit breaker for the CROSSFEED VALVE on the P6 panel.

 (d)  
Set the crossfeed valve switch on the P5 panel to the OPEN position.


 F. Test Procedure for the Boost Pump Valves on the No. 1 and the No. 2 Tanks

 (1)  Put the container below the drain valve of the applicable boost pump for the applicable tank (Fig. 503).
