J. Put Fuel in the Fuel Boost Pump to Make Sure It Operates Correctly After You Install It
S 864-050
(1)
Put the boost pump switch on the P5 panel to OFF.
S 864-051
(2)
Open these circuit breakers and attach the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a) P6 Main Power Distribution Panel 1) The master DIM AND TEST 2) The circuit breaker for the boost pump you installed. 3) The circuit breaker for the indication lights for the fuel
system.
S 614-052
(3) Do these steps to put fuel into the boost pump:
(a)
Open the drain valve in the bottom of the outer surface of the pump until some fuel flows out of the valve (Fig. 401).
(b)
When some fuel starts to flow out of the drain valve, close the valve.
(c)
If no fuel flows from the drain valve when you open it, do these steps to put fuel into the boost pump: 1) Manually close the removal valve for the fuel boost pump. 2) Put the fuel into the drain valve with the priming bottle
for the boost pump (Fig. 402).
NOTE: Put a minimum of 75 percent of a bottle full of
____ fuel of fuel into the boost pump.
3) Open the removal valve for the fuel boost pump and immediately do the procedure "Make Sure the Fuel Boost Pump Contains Fuel to Operate Correctly".
S 864-053
