(b)
Remove the mounting screws from the actuator assembly.
(c)
Carefully move the actuator assembly away from the gate assembly until the output shaft is out of the mating part.
(d)
Lift the actuator assembly away from the structure.

D. Procedure
S 644-007
(1)
Apply a thin layer of grease to the splines of the output shaft.
S 424-008
(2)
Align the output shaft of the actuator assembly with the input shaft of the gate assembly.
(a) Turn the output shaft until you align the index spline with the spline in the input shaft.
S 424-009
CAUTION:_______HOLD THE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY UP WHILE YOU INSTALL IT. DAMAGE TO THE SPLINES CAN EASILY OCCUR.
(3)
Carefully move the output shaft into the input shaft until the mounting flange on the actuator assembly touches the gate assembly.
(a) If the mounting holes on the actuator assembly are not aligned with the mating holes, carefully turn the actuator assembly to align the holes.
(4)
Install the mounting screws in the actuator assembly.
(5)
Connect the bonding jumper to the actuator assembly.

(6) Do a check of the electrical bond (SWPM 20-20-00).
(a) The bonding resistance must not be more than 0.01 ohm.
S 434-013
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE WIRE BUNDLE HAS A LAYER OF TAPE TO GIVE
_______ PROTECTION FROM DAMAGE. DAMAGE FROM FRICTION CAN OCCUR TO THE WIRE BUNDLE.
(7) Connect the electrical plug to the actuator assembly.
(a)
Make the loose wire into a loop between the plug and the adjacent clamp if there is some loose wire.
(b)
Do not make a loop of wire between two clamps.
(c)
If it is necessary, loosen the three clamps at the end of the wire and put the loose wire in a different position.
(d)
Put the tape on the wire bundle with a 50% overlap to give protection from friction.
(e)
Install the layer of tape on the wire bundle from the plug to a location on the far side of the third clamp.
S 864-014
(8) Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag and close this circuit breaker:
(a) P6 Main Power Distribution Panel 1) CROSSFD VALVE (for the fuel crossfeed valve)
TASK 28-22-21-004-015
4. Crossfeed Valve Gate Assembly Removal
_____________________________________
A. General
(1) With a pitch of zero degrees, the No. 1 tank must contain less than 1,000 pounds (454 kilograms) of fuel. The No. 2 tank must also contain less than 1,000 pounds (454 kilograms) of fuel. Smaller quantities of fuel can be necessary at different pitches. This is to make sure the level of the fuel in each wing tank is below the level of the crossfeed valve. It is possible to move fuel to the center tank to reduce the fuel quantity in the wing tanks. But it is necessary to close the removal valves on the two center tank boost pumps to prevent fuel flow from the center tank to the two wing tanks. If the fuel level in the center tank is higher than the fuel level in the wing tanks, fuel flows slowly from the center tank to the No. 1 tank through the fuel scavenge system. Thus, the gate assembly must be replaced before the fuel level in the No. 1 tank rises to the level of the fuel crossfeed valve.
