Defuel the No. 1 tank and prepare to go into it (Ref 28-23-00/201, 28-10-00/201).

Remove the No. 1 access panel (7202) for the No. 1 tank (Ref 28-11-11/401).

At the front spar, remove the cap from the check valve (flow indicator).

 (7)  
Remove the nut and the washer that attach the check valve (flow indicator) to the front spar.

 (8)  
Go into the No. 1 tank.

 (9)  
Remove the check valve (flow indicator).

 (a)  
Disconnect the fuel lines, and remove the check valve (flow indicator).

 (b)  
Discard the O-ring.

 D. Procedure
 S 114-012
 (1)  Clean these surfaces with the aliphatic naphtha and dry them with a lintfree cloth:
 (a)  
The O-ring groove in the body of the check valve (flow indicator)

 (b)  
The mating surface for the body of the check valve in the No. 1 tank.


 S 434-013
 (2)  
Install a new O-ring, lightly lubricated with fuel, in the groove in the check valve (flow indicator).

 S 424-014

 (3)  
Install the check valve (flow indicator).

 (a)  
Put the check valve (flow indicator) through the hole in the front spar.

 (b)  
Attach the check valve (flow indicator) to the correct position with the washer and the nut.

 (c)  Put the cap on the flow indicator.
 (4)  S 434-015Connect the fuel lines to the check valve (flow indicator).
 (5)  S 414-016Install the No. 1 access panel (7202) for the No. 1 tank that you removed to get access to the check valve (Ref 28-11-11/401).

 WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY DO THE STEPS IN THE TASK BELOW TO REMOVE THE
_______ LE FLAP SAFETY LOCKS. THE LE FLAPS CAN MOVE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT REMOVE THE SAFETY LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (6)  Remove the flap locks on the leading edge flaps (Ref 27-81-00/201).

 WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE AND TE
_______ FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. WITH HYDRAULIC POWER REMOVED, THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (7)  
Retract the leading edge flaps (Ref 27-81-00/201).

 (8)  
Remove the electrical power if it is not necessary for other tasks (Ref 24-22-00/201).
