(4) For a float switch in the No. 1 tank or the No. 2 tank, do these steps to remove collected fluid from the conduit:
(a)
Put the flexible tube into the conduit.
(b)
Make sure a length of approximately 16 inches goes into the conduit so that the end of the tube is a the lowest point.
NOTE: You can put a mark on the tube to show the correct
____
length.
(c)
Use a small syringe to remove the collected fluid.
(d)
Remove the flexible tube from the conduit.

(5) For the fueling float switch in the center tank, do these steps:
(a)
Make sure the necessary teflon sleeve is installed on the float switch wire bundle before you pull the wiring through the conduit (SB 737-28A1132).
(b)
Do an inspection of the wiring and the conduit
(AMM 28-21-71/601).
(c)
Install or re-install the teflon sleeving if it is necessary (AMM 28-21-71/601) (SB 737-28A1132).

WARNING: MAKE SURE THE SPLICES ARE NOT IN THE CONDUIT AFTER YOU PULL THE
_______ WIRES THROUGH THE CONDUIT. AN EXPLOSION CAN OCCUR IF THE SPLICE TOUCHES THE CONDUIT.
(6) Pull the wires for the float switch through the conduit.
(a)
Attach the wire puller to the wires on the float switch.
(b)
Pull the wires through the conduit until the ends of the wires come through the bulkhead fitting on the wing front spar.
NOTE: Be careful not to put kinks in the wires when you

pull them through the conduit.

(7) Install the float switch.
(a)
In the fuel tank, let the mounting nut and one of the two washers go down on the wires that go to the float switch.
(b)
Put the wires through the holes in the mounting bracket.
(c)
Put the bottom of the float switch in its correct position in the bracket.

(8) Install the two washers and the mounting nut.
NOTE: Make sure that one washer is on the top surface of the
____ mounting bracket. Make sure the second washer is on the bottom surface of the mounting bracket.
(a)
Hold the float switch and do not let it turn while you tighten the nut.
(b)
Do not let the wires twist when you tighten the nut.
(c)
Attach the nut with a lockwire.

Connect the electrical conduit to the float switch.

Attach the conduit nut with a lockwire.

If the conduit was removed, do these steps:
(a)
From in the wing tank, tighten the conduit nut at the bulkhead union.
(b)
If loosened, tighten the conduit union connection.
(c)
Secure the conduit nut at the bulkhead union with lockwire.
(d)
Secure the conduit union connection with lockwire.
(e)
From out of the wing tank at the wing front spar, tighten the bulkhead union nut.

(12) For a float switch in the No. 1 tank or the No. 2 tank, do these steps to fill the conduit with grease:
NOTE: This step prevents the collection of water in the conduit
____
and subsequent damage from ice.
(a)
Put a flexible tube into the conduit to a length of
approximately 16 inches.
(b)
If it is possible, use a force of 2-5 pounds to push the tube into the conduit to a length of 17 inches.
NOTE: This will permit the grease to fill the conduit more
____
completely.
(c)
Hold the tube in this position while you put grease through the tube into the empty space in the conduit.
