FUEL CROSSFEED VALVE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure has these six tasks:
(1)
A task to remove the actuator assembly for the fuel crossfeed valve
(2)
A task to install the actuator assembly for the crossfeed valve
(3)
A task to remove the gate assembly for the fuel crossfeed valve
(4)
A task to install the gate assembly for the fuel crossfeed valve
(5)
A task to remove the port adapter assembly for the fuel crossfeed valve
(6)
A task to install the port adapter assembly for the fuel crossfeed valve.
B. The fuel crossfeed valve is installed on the rear spar of the right wing. The fuel crossfeed valve has these three primary assemblies:
(1)
The actuator assembly
(2)
The gate assembly
(3)
The port adapter assembly.
C. The actuator assembly is attached to the gate assembly with bolts. You can remove the actuator assembly with the gate assembly as an assembled unit. But it is not necessary to remove the gate assembly to remove the actuator assembly.
D. You must remove the actuator assembly and the gate assembly to remove the port adapter assembly. You must also defuel the No. 2 fuel tank to remove the port adapter assembly.
E. The No. 1 tank must contain less than 1000 pounds (454 kilograms) of fuel to remove the gate assembly. The No. 2 tank must also contain less than 1000 pounds (454 kilograms) to remove the gate assembly.

B. Procedure

(1)
Open this circuit breaker and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag:
(a) P6 Main Power Distribution Panel 1) CROSSFD VALVE (for the fuel crossfeed valve)
(2)
Disconnect the electrical plug from the crossfeed valve.
(3)
Disconnect the bonding jumper from the valve.
