Connect the external electrical power to the airplane (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Open one of these two access doors to get access to the applicable engine shutoff valve:
(a)
The access door, 6212, for the engine shutoff valve (on the left side immediately outboard of the engine)
(b)
The access door, 6512, for the engine shutoff valve (on the right side immediately outboard of the engine)

(3) Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a) P6 Main Power Distribution Panel
1) SHUTOFF VALVE ENG 1
2) SHUTOFF VALVE ENG 2
3) INDICATOR MASTER DIM BUS
4) ENGINE NO. 1 RIGHT IGNITION
5) ENGINE NO. 1 LEFT IGNITION
6) ENGINE NO. 2 LEFT IGNITION
7) ENGINE NO. 2 RIGHT IGNITION

Make sure the engine start levers on the aisle stand are in the CUTOFF position.

Set the BAT switch on the P5 panel to the ON position.
E. Test Procedure
S 715-242
(1) Do these steps to do a check of the redundant wiring path to close each shutoff valve (WDM 28-21-01):
(a) To do a test of the wiring for the No. 1 Engine shutoff valve, do these steps: 1) Disconnect connector D4182. 2) With connector D4182 disconnected, do a continuity check
from D4182P, pin 8 to D4182J, pin 8.
NOTE: This is a check to make sure the redundant wire
____ path from splice SM36 to splice SP3018 does not have a problem (WDM 28-21-01).
3) Re-connect connector D4182.
(b) To do a test of the wiring for the No. 2 Engine shutoff valve, disconnect connector D4184. 1) Disconnect connector D4184. 2) With connector D4184 disconnected, do a continuity check
from D4184P, pin 16 to D4184J, pin 16.
NOTE: This is a check to make sure the redundant wire
____ path from splice SM10 to splice SP3016 does not have a problem (WDM 28-21-01).
3) Re-connect connector D4184.

(2) Close these circuit breakers and remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a) P6 Main Power Distribution Panel
1) SHUTOFF VALVE ENG 1
2) SHUTOFF VALVE ENG 2
3) INDICATOR MASTER DIM BUS

(3) Make sure the position indication lights for the engine shutoff valve operate correctly (Fig. 501).
(a)
Find the position indication lights on the P5 panel.
(b)
Push the position indication lights to make sure they come on and make sure they are bright blue.
NOTE: The position indication lights are press-to-test lights.

(4) Examine the position indication lights for each of the two engine shutoff valves.
(a) Make sure the two engine shutoff valves are fully closed.

(5) Make sure the engine shutoff valve operates correctly with the start lever for the applicable engine (Fig. 501).
(a)
Move the start lever for the applicable engine forward 1.8 inches from the CUTOFF position.
(b)
Make sure the applicable position indication light is on brightly while the position of the engine shutoff valve changes.
