To align the output shaft of the actuator assembly with the input shaft of the gate assembly, turn the output shaft until the index spline lines up with index spline in the input shaft.


 CAUTION: HOLD THE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY SO WEIGHT IS NOT ON THE SHAFT.
_______ IF THERE IS WEIGHT ON THE SHAFT, DAMAGE TO THE SPLINED SHAFTS CAN OCCUR.
 (c)  Insert the end of the output shaft into the input shaft, then carefully move the output shaft into the input shaft until the mounting flange of the acutuator touches the gate assembly.

If the mounting holes of the actuator assembly do not align with the mating holes, carefully turn the actuator assembly until the holes align.

Install the mounting bolts of the actuator assembly (Fig. 401).

Clean the O-ring groove in the gate assembly housing and the machined surface of the front spar with solvent.

Rub all the remaining solvent off with a clean cotton cloth.

Install a new O-ring (that is lightly lubricated with fuel) into the groove on the gate assembly housing.

Carefully put the actuator assembly and the gate assembly as a unit into the port adapter through the opening in the front spar.

Tighten the nuts and the washers for the actuator assembly and the gate assembly to 50-70 pound-inches.

Turn the thermal anti-ice duct back to its usual position.

 (10)
 Install the clamp on the thermal anti-ice duct.

 Connect the electrical plug to the actuator assembly and attach it with a lockwire.

 Do the task: "Do a Check of the Electrical Bonding" (SWPM 20-20-00) to make sure the resistance is not more than 0.0025 ohms.

 F. Do an Operational Test of the Shutoff Valve

Make sure the BOOST PUMP switches on the P5 panel are in the OFF position.

Make sure the start lever, on the pilot's control stand, is in the CUTOFF position.

Make sure the valve position indicator on the applicable shutoff valve is in the closed position.

Move the start lever to the idle position.

Make sure the valve position indicator on the applicable shutoff valve moves to the open position.

Move the start lever to the CUTOFF position.
