FUEL SCAVENGE JET PUMP - INSPECTION/CHECK

1. General
_______
A. This procedure has one task. The task is a check for the correct operation of the jet pump for the fuel scavenge system.
B. The jet pump is in tank No. 1. It is installed on the front spar. It is not necessary to go into or to defuel the tank to clean the nozzle opening on the jet pump. The flapper valve on the jet pump prevents fuel flow when you remove the nozzle.

(1) Extend the leading edge flaps (AMM 27-81-00/201).

WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY DO THE STEPS IN THE TASK BELOW TO INSTALL
_______ THE LE FLAP SAFETY LOCKS. THE LE FLAPS CAN MOVE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE SAFETY LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2)
Install the locks on the leading edge flaps (AMM 27-81-00/201).
(3)
Put a container below the pump to catch the fuel.
(4)
Remove the jet nozzle.

NOTE: When you remove the nozzle from the pump housing, the
____ flapper valve in the pump closes to prevent fuel leakage.

Loosen the jet nozzle plug from the pump housing.
(b)
Remove the nozzle from the pump.

(c) Discard the O-ring.
(5) S 036-011Loosen and remove the jet nozzle from the nozzle plug.
(6) S 216-006Make sure the holes of the jet nozzle are clean and free of blockage.
