FUEL BOOST PUMP - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. This procedure has two tasks:
(1)
A task to remove the fuel boost pump
(2)
A task to install the fuel boost pump.
B. The procedures to remove the fuel boost pumps are the same for all of the fuel boost pumps. The procedure to install the fuel boost pump is the same for all of the boost pumps. There are two boost pumps above the bottom surface on the inboard part of each wing. There is one boost pump on the front spar on the inboard part of each wing. The No. 1 tank and the No. 2 tank are referred to as the wing tanks.
C. Access to the aft boost pumps for the wing tanks is through the applicable access panel for the fuel boost pump. Access to the boost pumps in the center tank is also through the applicable access panel. You must extend the leading edge flaps to get access to the forward fuel boost pumps for the main tanks (refer to the WARNING below).

On the P5 panel, make sure all of the switches for the fuel boost pumps are in the OFF position.

Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a) P6 Main Power Distribution Panel 1) CROSSFD VALVE (for the fuel crossfeed valve) 2) SHUT-OFF VALVE ENG 1 3) SHUT-OFF VALVE ENG 2 4) The circuit breaker for the fuel boost pump that you are
scheduled to remove.
