Put the line into the fitting.

Tighten the coupling nut with your hand.

(5) Install the flexible full coupling if the fuel line has a flexible full coupling (Fig. 403).
(a)
Put the coupling nut on the ferrule on line A.
(b)
Put the coupling on the ferrule on line B.
CAUTION: DO NOT PUT THE RETAINING RING OUT OF ITS CORRECT SHAPE.
_______ YOU CAN CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE TO THE RING AND LEAKAGE AT THE FITTING.
(c)
Put one new retaining ring on each ferrule to keep the nut and the coupling on the ends of the fuel line.
(d)
Lubricate new O-rings with petrolatum.
(e)
Put one O-ring on each ferrule.
(f)
Attach the two halves of the retainer.
(g)
Put the two tube ends together with a space of 0.15 (|0.05) inch between the ferrules.
(h)
Make sure the retainer rings and the retainer halves hold the O-rings tightly between them.

(i) Put the two halves of the retainer together.

Tighten the coupling nut with your hand (Fig. 403).

Attach the coupling nut to the coupling with a lockwire.

Tighten the bolts, the washers, and the nuts that attach the fuel line clamps to the support bracket.

If you went into a fuel tank, close the fuel tank.

Remove all tools, all equipment, and all unwanted material from the fuel tank.

Install the applicable access panel for the fuel tank

Fill the fuel tanks with fuel (AMM 12-11-00/301).
