CAUTION:_______DO NOT INSTALL THE INCORRECT BOOST PUMP. DAMAGE TO THE BOOST PUMP AND THE WIRES CONNECTED TO THE BOOST PUMP CAN EASILY OCCUR.
(2) Make sure you know the maximum current for the circuit breakers for the fuel boost pump.
(a)
Do not install the fuel boost pump with the part number 10-60533 on airplanes with the 10 amp circuit breakers.
(b)
Make sure the airplane has the 8 amp circuit breakers if you install the fuel boost pump with the part number 10-60533-1.

_______ ARRESTOR. DO NOT INSTALL THE BOOST PUMP WITHOUT THE FLAME ARRESTOR. A FIRE OR EXPLOSION CAN OCCUR IF THE FLAME ARRESTOR IS NOT INSTALLED.
(3) Do a check of the vent port to make sure the fuel pump flame arrestor is installed (Fig. 401A).
(a) If the fuel pump flame arrestor is not installed, do not install this pump. Install a pump that has the flame arrestor installed correctly.
G. Prepare to Install the Fuel Boost Pump

(1) Clean these surfaces to remove all oxidation material and other unwanted material and dry them with a lint-free cloth (AMM 20-10-34/701):
(a)
The machined surface on the mounting flange on the boost pump
(b)
The mating surfaces that go against the mounting flange for the fuel boost pump.

(2) Install the mounting clamps for the fuel boost pumps, if you removed them (Fig. 401).
(a)
Put the mounting clamps in their correct position.
(b)
Install the shoulder bolt in the rectangular hole for each bracket.
(c)
Do not install the mounting bolts that go in the bottom of the bracket.
(d)
Tighten the shoulder bolts to a torque of 25-30 pound-inches.
(e)
Make sure the mounting clamps move freely below the shoulder bolts.
(f)
These problems can cause the mounting clamps not to move freely: 1) You installed the incorrect bolt.

2) You installed a washer that is not necessary. 3) The clamp is damaged.
(g) Replace the parts that you must replace to let the mounting clamps move freely.

(3) Install new O-rings, lightly lubricated with fuel, into these O-ring grooves on the fuel boost pump:
(a)
The inlet port
(b)
The outlet port
(c)
The vent port.

(4) Fill the fuel boost pump to prepare it for operation.
(a)
Make sure the drain valve for the boost pump is closed.
(b)
Hold the fuel boost pump with the inlet port turned up.
(c)
Put approximately 0.5 pint of fuel into the pump through the inlet port.

(5) Carefully turn the fuel boost pump to its correct position for installation.
(a) Let unwanted fuel flow out of the pump while you turn it.
H. Install the Fuel Boost Pump

If you install the aft fuel boost pump for the wing tank or the boost pumps for the center tank, lift the fuel boost pump into the dry bay through the access opening.

If you install the forward (FWD) boost pumps for the wing tanks, lift the fuel boost pump up to the front spar.
