(1) Clean these surfaces and dry them with a lintfree cloth.
(a)
The machined surface of the body assembly.
(b)
The O-ring groove of the check valve.
S 434-010
(2) Install a new O-ring, lightly lubricated with fuel, on the check valve.
NOTE: Make sure you put the O-ring on the side of the check
____
valve that has the poppet valve.

CAUTION: DO NOT LOOSEN THE O-RING OR PUSH IT OUT OF ITS CORRECT SHAPE
_______ WHEN YOU INSTALL THE CHECK VALVE. YOU CAN CAUSE A FUEL LEAK.
(3)
Install the check valve.
(a)
Put the check valve on the body assembly.
(b)
Turn the check valve to align the screw holes with the holes in the body assembly.
(c)
Install the mounting screws in the check valve.
(d)
Tighten all of the screws equally.
(e)
Make sure the check valve is parallel to the flange of the body assembly.
(4)
Install the fueling receptacle manifold (AMM 28-21-21/401).

FUELING BODY OR ELBOW ASSEMBLY - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. This procedure has two tasks:
(1)
A task to remove the fueling body assembly or the elbow assembly from the wing front spar
(2)
A task to install the fueling body assembly or the elbow assembly on the wing front spar.
B. Three fueling body assemblies and one elbow assembly are installed on the wing front spar. The procedure to remove and to install all of these parts is almost the same.

Defuel the No. 2 fuel tank and prepare to go into it.

If you are scheduled to remove the fueling body assembly for the center or the No. 1 tank, defuel the applicable tank (AMM 28-10-00/201).
