E. Procedure
S 114-010
(1)
Clean the mounting areas for the fuel line clamps with the solvent.
S 434-011
(2)
Prepare to install the fuel line.
(a) Loosely attach the clamps to the support brackets.
S 424-012
(3) Install the rigid coupling if the fuel line has a rigid coupling (Fig. 401).
(a) Put the coupling nut on the ferrule on line A.
CAUTION: DO NOT PUT THE RETAINING RING OUT OF ITS CORRECT SHAPE.
_______ YOU CAN CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE TO THE RING AND LEAKAGE AT THE FITTING.
(b)
Put a new retaining ring on the ferrule to keep the nut on line
A.
(c)
Lubricate a new O-ring with petrolatum.
(d)
Install the new O-ring on line B.
CAUTION:_______DO NOT USE TOOLS TO TIGHTEN THE FUEL LINE FITTINGS. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE DAMAGE TO THE FITTING OR LOOSEN THE ADJACENT FITTINGS.
(e)
Align the lines, A and B.
(f)
Tighten the coupling nut with your hand until it is tightly engaged.
(g)
Attach the nut to the ferrule with a lockwire.

(4) Install the flexible half coupling if the fuel line has a flexible half coupling (Fig. 402).
(a) Put the coupling nut on the ferrule on the line.
