 B.  The flame arrestor is in the bottom, aft part of the left main wheel well. You can find it in the drain line at the coupler near the inner side of the airplane skin. The drain valve is in the drain line upstream of the flame arrestor near the airplane center line.

 (1)  Container - glass or clear plastic, 250 ml capacity (to collect the water and the fuel)

 (1)  Do these steps to drain the shroud drain line:
 (a)  
Find the drain valve for the APU shroud in the drain line (approximately 40 inches inboard of the drain mast).

 (b)  
Put the container below the drain valve.

 (c)  
Open the drain valve and let the fluid drain into the container.

 (d)  
Close the drain valve.

 (2)  
Examine the collected fluid for fuel.

 (3)  
If you find more than a small quantity of fuel in the collected fluid, do these steps:

 (a)  
Tighten the couplers for the APU fuel line (AMM 28-22-81/401).

 (b)  
Do a pressure check of the APU fuel line (AMM 28-22-36/401).

 (c)  
If it is necessary, replace the fuel line (AMM 28-22-81/401).

 A.  This procedure has one task. The task is to clean the APU flame arrestor.
 B.  The flame arrestor is in the bottom, aft part of the left main wheel well. You can find it in the drain line at the coupler near the inner side of the airplane skin.

 (1)  Do these steps to remove the flame arrestor (Fig. 701):
 (a)  
Find the flame arrestor in the drain line immediately upstream of the drain mast.

 (b)  
Disconnect the coupler which contains the flame arrestor.
