_______ AND TE FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS. THE LEADING EDGE AND THE TRAILING EDGE CONTROL SURFACES CAN EXTEND AND RETRACT QUICKLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (1)  To get access to the forward (FWD) fuel boost pump in the No. 1 tank or the forward boost pump in the No. 2 tank, extend the leading edge flaps (AMM 27-81-00/201).
 WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY DO THE STEPS IN THE TASK BELOW TO
_______ INSTALL THE LE FLAP SAFETY LOCKS. THE LE FLAPS CAN MOVE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE SAFETY LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (a)  
Install the flap locks on the leading edge flaps (AMM 27-81-00/201).

 (b)  
Remove the small clearance panel from bottom wing skin below the removal valve handle (Fig. 401, detail B).

 F. Get Access to the Aft Fuel Boost Pumps in the Wing Tanks
 S 014-008
 (1)  
To get access to the aft boost pumps in the No. 1 tank, remove the access panel, No. 7203, in the bottom wing skin (AMM 57-30-11/401).

 S 014-009

 (2)  
To get access to the aft boost pump in the No. 2 tank, remove the access panel, No. 7403, in the bottom wing skin (AMM 57-30-11/401).

 G. Get Access to the Fuel Boost Pumps in the Center Tank
 S 014-010
 (1)  
To get access to the left (LH) fuel boost pump in the center tank, remove the access panel, No. 7201, in the bottom wing skin (AMM 57-30-11/401).

 S 014-011

 (2)  
To get access to the right (RH) fuel boost pump in the center tank, remove the access panel, No. 7401, in the bottom wing skin (AMM 57-30-11/401).

 H. Removal Procedure
 S 864-013
 (1)  Manually close the removal valve for the fuel boost pump (Fig. 401).
 (a)  If you are scheduled to remove the fuel boost pump for the center tank, also close the removal valve for the opposite fuel boost pump for the center tank.
 S 034-014
 (2)  
Disconnect the electrical plug from the fuel boost pump.

 S 684-015

 (3)  
With a container below the drain valve, open the drain valve and drain the fuel from the fuel boost pump.

 S 034-016

 (4)  
Remove the bolts from the fuel boost pump.

 (a)  
Hold the fuel boost pump up.

 (b)  
Remove the bottom bolt from each clamp that attaches the fuel boost pump.

 

 S 014-017
 (5)  Move the clamps to let you remove the fuel boost pump.
 (a)  Move the clamps down.
